Studio Policies

Membership Rates

Members+ - $145/month. Includes one weekly private lesson and full access to membership benefits. Most group classes, workshops, and recitals are included at no additional cost (excluding materials when applicable). Some specialty events or programs may have an additional fee; Members+ pay 50% off these special offerings.

Mini-Membership - $45/month. Includes all membership benefits plus one free group class hour per week. Additional group hours and workshops are available at 50% off the standard rate. Private lessons are not included.

Non-Members - $25 per class hour. Pay-as-you-go access to group classes and workshops, plus any applicable material fees. Private lessons and membership benefits are not included.

Tuition increases follow industry standards. You will be notified one month before further rate increases.

Members who drop lessons mid-month are still responsible for the full month's payment.

Discounts

Multi-Lesson Discounts: 2 students in the same household receive 5% off each; 3 or more students receive 10% off each. Students taking multiple lessons receive 15% off the second lesson. Discounts apply only to Members+ and do not stack.

Student-Teacher Discounts: Students taking lessons with a student teacher receive 10% off monthly tuition. Applies only to Members+ and does not stack.

Student Profile & Membership

Each family receives a My Music Staff portal link to view calendar, notes, studio news, cancellations, practice logs, payments, and account updates.

Membership benefits are included in membership fees. Choosing not to participate in available activities does not reduce monthly membership pricing.

Cancellations & Makeup

Group Classes/Events: Group activities are generally not rescheduled. If you cannot attend a booked activity, please let us know.

Private Lessons: Cancellations should be made in the portal (or by email to milfordmusicstudios@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations within 24 hours do not receive makeup credit. Makeup credits expire after 30 days unless otherwise approved. Teachers open makeup lessons at their discretion.

Snow Days/Bad Weather: Milford Music Studios does not follow local school closures automatically. Teacher decisions determine studio cancellations. If a teacher cancels, makeup credit is provided. If teacher does not cancel and student cancels, the standard private lesson cancellation policy applies.

Holiday Closures

  • Thanksgiving (Thursday-Sunday)
  • Christmas Eve through New Year's Day

Lessons missed due to holiday closures do not receive makeup credits. Teachers may schedule makeup lessons during holidays at their discretion.

Membership Benefits

  • $0 Registration Fee: Registration fee is currently suspended.
  • Group Activities: Included in membership and booked first-come/first-serve.
  • Recital Opportunities: Typically three themed recitals each year (Halloween, Christmas, Spring Pop).
  • Theory Class: Structured levels with optional assessments and leadership opportunities.
  • Music Festival: Voucher for one solo performance for eligible monthly members enrolled October-April.
  • Competitions: Various competitions with rotating prizes.
  • Achievement Awards: Points for practice and milestones with app tracking and level progress.
  • Referral Program: One free month for each referred family who purchases membership and stays enrolled at least two months.

Health Policy

Masks & Vaccines: Vaccination status is private between families and doctors. Masks are welcome but not required.

Illness: Contact the studio if you are not feeling well. Makeup lessons and virtual options may be available at teacher discretion.

Common Questions

Do I need to create an account?
New students can register during checkout. Returning students can sign in to manage lessons or classes.
What if I can't find a time that works?
Many of our teachers have flexible schedules. If you're unable to find a spot, please contact us to join the wait list and we'll help you get scheduled.
Can I book lessons for more than one student?
Yes - complete checkout for the first student, then repeat for the next. If you prefer, we can assist - just reach out.
