Band & String instruments

We have a wide variety of instruments available to rent. Milford Music, in conjunction with McCourt's  Music, will provide you with great instruments, excellent service, and competitive prices.

ARE THESE NEW OR USED INSTRUMENTS?

This is subject to availability. We cannot guarantee that you will get a new instrument. If it is used, you can be assured that the instrument has been cleaned, inspected, and put into optimum playing condition. Its condition has been graded, and priced accordingly. Used instruments from McCourt's Music rent for slightly less.

RENT TO OWN?

Yes! All rental payments apply to purchase (fractional size instruments are exempt from the purchase discount).

CAN I SWITCH?

Yes! You may exchange your instrument for another student line instrument for as long as you are renting.

For band instruments, an exchange within the first six months will transfer all rental payments to the new instrument. After six months, a 'use' fee of 1% of the price of the instrument times the number of months you had the instrument will be deducted from the principal, and all other money will be credited towards the new instrument.

• For string instruments, full credit will be transferred while stepping up in size of the same instrument (i.e. 1/4 violin to 1/2 violin, and so on). If moving from one instrument to another (violin to viola or cello), then the band instrument exchange policy will apply. Fractional size instruments are considered "Rent Only", and are exempt from the purchase discount and pay off.

MAINTENANCE/INSURANCE

$5 monthly payment (included in the rental price) will cover any malfunction caused by normal use of the instrument such as pads, springs, corks, screws, lugs, etc. Broken strings will be replaced and tuned to pitch. The coverage also includes replacement of the instrument should it be lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair. It is strongly recommended that students wait for classroom instruction to open the case and handle the instrument.
